Why You Should Use eQSL.cc
  1. It is easy to use
No need to install special software. No need to buy security certificates. No need to learn about military-grade encryption schemes.
  2. It saves you money
Our members save literally thousands of dollars in postage, printing, cards, envelopes, stamps, etc.
  3. It uses a Patent Pending technology
We have applied for patents on most aspects of the eQSL.cc system. This means that any competitor's exchange will be infringing on our patents, and will likely have to shut down.
  4. It is fast
You can make one manual log entry at a time or upload 300 log entries per minute in ADIF format
  5. It is instantaneously available
We use state-of-the-art database technology. This allows us to implement new features quickly and easily.
  6. It is FREE
Neither the sender nor the recipient of the QSL card have to pay anything for the basic service
  7. It is secure
Using the Authenticity Guaranteed program, you can be sure the eQSLs you receive are from a verified, licensed callsign-holder.
  8. It is everywhere
All you need is a web browser and access to the internet. We designed our site to work with the "lowest common denominator" of web browsers, so 99% of them will work correctly.
  9. It is catching on
Currently, over 1386118203 QSL cards from 351 countries are available online
  10. It is an "exchange" type system
Hams can deposit and retrieve QSL cards at any time, without having to wait for e-mail or know each other's e-mail addresses
  11. It is informative
You can always check to see if the recipients of your QSL cards have picked them up yet. You can also find out which ones of them are registered users and have QSL cards waiting for you.
Why E-Mail Based Systems Won't Cut It
There are several competing systems on the Internet that rely on e-mail for their operation. (Ex: QRZ.com, WWDX, etc.)

One of the problems with an e-mail based system is that there is no security inherent in that mechanism. Anyone can purport to be P5ABC, and you'll have a difficult time verifying it.

Another problem with an e-mail based system is that the person sending the QSL card must have an up-to-date, accurate e-mail address for the recipient.

When you have just finished logging 300 contacts during a contest, the last thing you want to try to do is look up 300 e-mail addresses somewhere.

In addition, because of the scourge of spam, most people would prefer not to give out their e-mail addresses willy-nilly. At eQSL.cc, we protect your e-mail address and don't ever display it anywhere!

eQSL.cc operates on the "Exchange" concept. The Electronic QSL Card Centre is a repository for QSL card information and logs. Senders and recipients of QSL cards can come to the exchange at any time to send and retrieve cards, whether their counterparts are registered users yet or not!

Why The Others Just Don't Cut It
If you are considering using a competitor's service, make sure it doesn't have any of these faults:
  • Not a QSL service at all, meaning it is only useful for submitting credits for an award.
  • If it works like ours, it is probably violating our patents, meaning it will probably be shut down soon.
  • Extremely limited participation
(If they have a dropdown box for participants, that's a bad sign!)
  • More of a greeting card, not a true QSL card
(Why would you want something that doesn't look like a QSL card or plays music?)
  • Requires special advanced version browser
(Restricts recipients of your QSL to those with that browser version)
  • Requires special Plug-ins for your browser
(Restricts recipients of your QSL to those who have downloaded that plug-in)
  • Only store cards for limited time
(Why? You don't know how long it will take the recipient to be ready to retrieve your card.)
  • Must know the recipient's e-mail address
(What a pain that is going to be! Have fun with your next list of 500 QSOs.)
  • Must wait for e-mail to arrive before retrieving QSL
(The whole purpose behind eQSLs is to eliminate delays!)
  • Can only post card if recipient already registered
    (More delays and uncertainty)
  • Allows anyone to view your entire logbook
(To make eQSLs acceptable for awards and contests, we must have tight security)
