Yes, I do the same thing. Paper QSLs are in photo albums. eQSLs are stored only here. I started printing them out, but realized:
- it's a bit beside the "e" part of eQSL to print the thing out - the graphics resolution (72 dpi or 96 dpi, I can't remember which) look terrible when printed at standard QSL size as they are meant for viewing on a screen... They'd need to be at least 200 dpi to look half-decent, probably 300 dpi to get a really slick print.
But I'm happy with them here, it's not like I can't look them up :)

--- Original message by KE5AQD Roger Banks on Jan 10, 2007 11:29 AM I posted a similiar question about this earlier in a different area. If I spend hours making contacts and get countries I need for an award and they use eQSL instead of sending me a card via the bureau, then I can use these for eQSL, but will NOT get credit for the DXCC award too? If thats so, what incentive do I have to use eQSL in the first place? It shouldn't matter how I got the confirmation, as long as its verified properly, either electronically, or paper card. If I print out an eQSL, it SHOULD count when I apply for or upgrade the DXCC award period. I am just a bronze member now, but if half of my contacts use eQSL, and the other half send a card, or use LotW, thats double work for me. Meaning, I would have to confirm 200 countries to achieve my goal. I don't get a chance to get on as much as I would like, so this would be a henderence for me. Depending on if I can, or can't use them, will effect whether I upgrade to Silver, or Gold status too. I usually request a card sent to the bureau when I make a contact, (I always QSL back if requested too) but if they don't, and send it to eQSL instead, and I don't get DXCC credit for it too, then, that just doesn't seem fair I guess. Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. I do however, enjoy EVERY contact I make, stateside, and in different countries, and its exciting working one I haven't heard yet, or one thats considered "rare"...so that is A JOY in itself, and THE reason I became a "ham" in the first place. (still is) The awards come last. I'm a VE, and do a lot of volunteer work too for special events, and emergency and disaster work too, but, its nice to have a little "wallpaper" here and there as well. The purpose of this discussion thread was to provide others with some ideas of ways to display their QSL collection whether they are e-QSL cards, printed or just downloaded, or whether they are paper QSL cards sent by mail.
Complaining about e-QSLs acceptance or nonacceptance for awards by various organizations is not appropriate for this topic nor, in my opinion, should it be a condition for upgrading to Silver or Gold membership.
I can not afford to send a paper QSL card to every station that I contact but using e-QSL I can make an e-QSL available to every station I contact. I do provide paper QSL cards for all cards received in such a manner.

--- Original message by K0ARY/VP9 Bruce on May 31, 2007 05:31 PM I will comment on your reply in another thread... So to stay on topic, I scan the paper ones (both sides if applicable, and cut/paste them into one single image), DL the "AG" cards and save them to a CD so I can go back and look at them from time to time, or have something to brag about to other hams. I don't have the wall space to display them, or I would. I even thought about making a screen saver that would randomly pull up a QSL image too, but haven't had the time. I have 300+ more cards to log....hopefully I'll get some hits so I can add them to the gallery too. Another thought would be....and they are rather expensive....but to put them in an LCD Digital Picture Frame. Load your images on a memory stick and plug it in. NS5B Steve Hutchinson

Hi all.
For those who are thinking about using a digital picture frame to display their eqsl cards. Check out that the screen supports the same image resolution as eqsl use for the eCards. Some of the cheaper digital frames squash the images to fit.
I use a frame with a usb memory stick with all my eqsl cards saved onto the memory stick. I plug this into my digital picture frame and let it scroll through the collection.
WARNING:- Watching the scrolling cards on the digital picture frame is a bit like watching tropical fish in a tank, time passes by so quickly! Or maybe its my age!

I don't print mine out instead like a few folk, I'm sure, I have an Eqsl folder which is sub-divided into seperate countries. When I download my eqsl's I further save them by callsign & band used, helps me out when getting eqsl's from the same members. For me personally, I find that saving them to disc is a far easier, and space saving, option and they can be perused at my leisure without getting dog-eared!

Hi there. I print out my eQSL's and eventually will put them in a binder. I've been collecting QSL's fro 35 years now and enjoy looking them over from time to time. My question is how can you print more than one QSL on a page as it seems to be a huge waste of paper. Can you copy and paste onto a word file etc.? Any suggestions would be welcome. I just want to put about 4 on a typical sheet of paper 8x10 or A4 size.
Thanks.
Jim

Yes Jim, When you display the eQSL, just right click on the card and save the image as a jpg file to your picture folder. Then you can use a word prossessing or paint program to arrange the pictures as you wish on the page. Some printers also allow you to print on both sides on the paper. I just save mine to a mydocuments\pictures\eQSL folder and then do a slide show to view the QSLs. Hope that helps. 73!

For me personally I could spend hours looking at my qsl cards. For those of you running window's vista the photo gadget in windows sidebar works really slick for doing a slide show. It may be a little small but it works well, just click the setup for the sidebar slideshow and browse to where you have all your eqsl's stored and select the folder and presto your done. I also use a digital photo frame. 73's and good DX

I print all e-Qsl cards, cut them to size and put them in my shoe-box. If someone has the courtesy of sending me a card, any card, I just can't ignore it. 73 Dick N2UGB
