We definitely NEED an award for 6, 2, and 70 meter grid squares right now the 6 and 2 meter folks are left out in the cold when it comes to grid square awards ! What a shame, eQsl is growing but to maintain this growth we need new awards like this because a lot of us chase the paper so that means we operate, not everyone of us is a contester yet we operate a contest to work stations who use eQSL instead of LOTW but eQSL is so much better, yeah guys that is a pat on the back to eQSL, let's make this happen !

I've been asking about this since 2010, and even back then, I was hearing "soon". After at least 10 years, I'm thinking it's not gonna happen...

I had a reply from the webmaster :

Due to users not specifying Internet-assisted QSOs as such on 2m and 70cm, it is impossible to guarantee valid eGrid VHF award credits at this time. This is up to the logger publishers to enforce PROP_MODE usage for those QSOs, and we have far too many QSOs logged as pure RF which were not in fact pure RF.

It would require the eAward Manager to review one-by-one every credit for, say eGrid VHF on 2m to see if the distance claimed could have actually been done without Internet assist. That's a nearly impossible task.

So while the eGrid VHF is ready to launch, we have put it on hold until someone can suggest a solution to this problem.

Though I've been fond of pure RF VHF qso's in meteor scatter, tropo, sporadic E, aurora... aso at a good place in the DUBUS rankings, I will never, really never volunteer for this...life is too short...hi
