Hi Mark,
I can give you a hand for Michigan and Isabella County. I live about 50 mile to the east.
For my moble HF rig I have a ICOM 706 with a 20m hamstick. I have a General license so pick a frequency accordingly.
This would be my first HF contact being I recieved my General license last summer and just now starting to put time into HF operation.
If it would be more easier, contact me by my email address rvdelestowicz@chartermi.net

I may be able to help you out with NC. Yadkin is 30 miles from me and Allegany a little further. It will be a few weeks before I can do it. I use hamsticks and can work 20, 40 or 75 meters mobile. What mode do you prefer CW or PH? Email me n4whk@roadrunner.com
