Why am I getting this error? I operate mostly field radio and use the grid/state/county that I'm operating from in the ADIF. Why is eQSL complaining about where I'm operating from? If this is a "feature" then this service will be pretty useless to me since 99.5% of my QSOs are not made from home. :(

Hi,

You are getting this error message because your account is set to :

Duluth, GA, EM74wa, Gwinnett county

This is what your correspondents see on the eQSL's you send them and apparently, it does not often reflect where you are operating from, maybe in the comments line ?
Quote: Why is eQSL complaining about where I'm operating from?

complaining, not really, it just warns you that your qso's don't match your profile but your log is actually uploaded....with warnings, red flags in your outbox

You can ignore the messages, but you are "AG", which means that you could give eAWARDs credits for the grid, county, state.....etc

when someone applies for an award with your credits, the award manager will see :

EL86xk not EM74wa
EM91 not EM74wa
EM75ms not EM74wa
........
TN, Cumberland not Gwinnett
GA, Gilmer not Gwinnett

and he will cancel the credit

some SOTA activators use dozens of accounts (not to say more..)

In an ideal world, you would have an onboard unit with integrated GPS, create eQSL accounts "on the fly"

But in real life, there is no easy solution at the moment for highly mobile stations.

the webmaster is working on it....it's not a trivial issue

FWIW..I'm just a support volunteer here

Thanks for the explanation. I assumed that with the number of people who do POTA/SOTA these days that the website would take that into account. Good to know it's being worked on. I would literally have over 100 accounts, which in real life can't be realistically managed.
