Clearly new at this. What is a Skeg? How does it function? After uploading adif file now receiving many qso's that are not in my log. I assume that I reject them. yes or no? How to use the archive system? Qsl that I have reviewed and no longer want to look at should be put in this "permanent storage bin? Yes or No. Qsl's coming from AG's and then confirmed by me by hitting the confirm button is that all there is to do? What about confirmation of Qso's that come from none AG stations? How do i confirm these?

I feel like this guideline info is on the site but I can not locate it just yet. If not any help and/or direction is dearly welcomed. I think it is a great system and fast too!

Jeff,
I think you mean Sked? If you click on it you will see sked requests from other hams. You can use this to set up radio schedules or just delete the sked requests.

If you have QSOs in your InBox but can't confirm them with your log, then you should reject them. Once you confirm a QSO and have displayed it's eQSL, then you can check the Archive box and move them to the Archive (the permanent sorage bin).

If you have uploaded your entire adif log, you shouldn't have to manually confirm any QSOs. They will automatically match other submitted logs (QSOs). If you can confirm any QSOs, AG or not, you should do so. Those not AG may become AG at a later date and then will automatically count for awards.

The Archive is where the system stores your confirmed QSOs and where you can view your eQSLs.

You're right Jeff, the info is there, and after a while you'll get used to it.

I have one more question as a newbie. In the Country column in a new QSO, in bright yellow, it reads USA (Needed). I've done searches but have not found anything relating to Needed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Kelly,
I posted this a while back as a reply to a similar question:

"In your profile, under Advanced Features, you will see a check box that if checked, will do the following:

"Allow me to easily see new countries per mode and band in my Inbox and archive the rest
(Note: Your Inbox will load about 2-3 times slower than normal, so we limit your view to 500 instead of 2000. But try it, and if you don't like it, come back here and uncheck the box.)"

If you check the box, and you go into your archive and display an eQSL that is not AG, it will indicate in yellow that this country is needed for an award. You may have confirmed the QSO, but until both of you are AG, it will not count for an eAward."

You can also do a search for 'yellow' and 'needed' and you should find some help that way. I used the dates of 10/10/2007 and 11/09/2010.

I hope this helps.

Frank,
That post was made in 2009 and since then they have removed the sked request button and feature.
