this is jimmie also km6wc .... I also have an alinco sr8 and what I did go buy a west mountain NO MIC for it (i'm not affiliated with west mountain in any way) well it seems to work just fine but you will be limited to 10 watts or less as that is what the radio will put out but that shouldn't be a problem a lot of hams out there use 10 watts or less, one ham was using .5 watts that's a half of a watt on jt65 mode which is what i run most of the time some psk31 and rtty so if that is any help your more than welcome. check out WEST MOUNTAIN AND THE NO MIC it just might solve your problem.
