G'day All,
I have a bit of a problem here...
i have had a subscription since late 2008 and besides a stuff up with PAYPAL in aug-sep of 2010 have been paying in regular....
i go overseas for a while to come back to find a message to say a price increase is in affect
( I know, cost of bandwidth, ect ect) but it's alright... pay $45.00 and you will get your "GOLD" status
I pay the $45.00

i come back 2 weeks later, log on and get a - you need to pay $95.00 to get your GOLD....... ect ect
i have sent mesages to the help team and a PM to the boss but have heard nothing... not a peep
and it has been 2 weeks
Someone, please tell me this is an error... please

Mitch

Gold Memberships are $300 starting August 1, 2011
On August 1, 2011, the price of Gold (lifetime) memberships increased to $300.
Anyone who already has a Gold membership before August 1 will continue to have that Gold lifetime membership.
Anyone who had a current PayPal monthly subscription (minimum $5) in effect prior to August 1 will be allowed to receive the Gold membership at the old $200 price
To qualify for the $200 price after August 1, the monthly PayPal subscription must have been in effect before August 1, and it must remain in effect until a total of $200 has been received. Any lapse in the subscription will void the plan and the $300 price will be in effect starting August 1
Our records show you had a monthly PayPal subscription of $5.00 at one time, but you allowed it to expire or lapse, and it is no longer valid

Looking at your file it seems that you paid the $45 upgrade fee a few days after the prices went up on August 1st.

I agree there was not much warning about the price increase, I only managed to notice because I check into the site a few times a week and upgraded as soon as I saw the message.

In your case it seems unfair as you were away and didn't see the message in time, hopefully they will cut you some slack! It seems that support is really backed up at the moment for unknown reasons, other people have been complaining about lack of response to support emails.

Hopefully once they get to yours they will give you a break and do the upgrade at the old price, it seems to me you have a good case!

Best of luck,

Hi David...
whats got me so upset is this statement
quote:

Anyone who had a current PayPal monthly subscription (minimum $5) in effect prior to August 1 will be allowed to receive the Gold membership at the old $200 price

if this is not the case, why put it there...

i do hope they cut some slack

cheers
Mitch

Very happy to hear that Mitch! I guess they are finally getting through their backlog of support requests.

FYI: Australian colloquialism (pickle me grandmother) made popular by the character Ted Bullpitt in the 70's sitcom "Kingswood Country".
