In the UK we have to alter the prefix to suit which part of the UK we are in and not the suffix. So if I am on holiday or even move to Wales my call will change from G0CER to GW0CER and so on for other parts of the UK GM = Scotland etc.. Anyway I have set up accounts on eQSL to suit my operations in these part... but the QRA I operate from is rarely the same each time but eQSL seems to change my QRA for all my accounts if I change the QRA for any of them and I can only change the last two letters.
I'm off to Shetland (that second higher bit off the top of Scotland near Norway) soon for a late holiday in October and my QRA will be different to the one I last used on the near island of Orkney but my modification could effect previous records or be not allowed.
I know it will probably be complicated, but to be able to set any call account temporarily to another QRA and have it historically kept rather than changed with future changes would help keep things accurate is possible please?

Dave, I understand QRA code to mean" QRA? What is the name of your station? QRA The name of my station is ......... Are you then referring to the QTH Nickname in your Profile? If so, my understanding is that each of your accounts in eQSL must have a unique QTH Nickname. You can try to set up an account for Wales for example and call the nickname Wales. Shetland could be Shetland and so forth. However, if you have to change your call prefix in each area, your accounts should also have that call. For example, while in Wales your account call would be GW0CER and your QTH nickname could be Wales. You could also link those accounts together so that any DX contacts made from those accounts would all count together, but have different InBoxes and OutBoxes. If you don't want that, just don't link them. They can all have the same password and email address also. Hope I didn't confuse you too much. 73 Andy - n1ork

Hi Andy Sorry I think I should have referred to it as the QRA locator - the otherwise known as 'Maidenhead' system. My home QTH is IO82RV if I'm out portable or on holdiay my locator might change, but keeping the same callsign.
My example of holiday QTHs might be as GM0CER I have been using it at a variety of locations but the eQSL seems to assume I'm only having one - If I could control say, between certain dates my locator was one and between set dates another, but as a general setting (eg the regualr one) to be the default locator.
Hope I'm being a bit less confusing now :) Dave

Dave, I don't know how eQSL treats grid locators in the UK, but in the US we need a seperate account and different QTH nickname for each different grid locator we work from. This is because the eWAS award is seperate for our grid locations. You should be able to set up a different account for each location as long as the grid locations and QTH nicknames are different from your main QTH. For example you may have an account with gm0cer/p from locator IO82rr from a vacation spot close to home. And also GW0CER from locator XXNNxx in Wales. Hope this helps somewhat. 73 Andy - n1ork

your about half-way there Andy :-) Yes but I go to these places and don't often stop at the same place which the account is registered for - so for GW0CER I may be in IO83** or IO73** and variations within each one, the UK is a small place. Camp-sites and holiday places vary a lot - I've >10 accounts already so this could get silly
Thanks for replying again :) Dave

I'm with you there... I do a lot of portable work, and teh way eQSL works each time I go out, I need to cerate a new linked-account. Even if its a location I've done before, it needs to be a new account if I've done somewhere different in between.
IMHO eQSL needs to change in a fundamental way...
1. All eQSLs for linked accounts arrive in a single inbox 2. Linked accounts can have overlapping dates, so that they can be reused.
All, IMHO Andrew

I agree on #1, it would be handy that way instead of having to logout of one account and then logging into another. Although, you could go to the 'My Accounts' page to see what is new. On #2, I have a linked account for our camp in New Hampshire and it has overlapping dates. I keep a seperate log for it (ACLog) so Qso's don't get confusing. 73 Andy - n1ork
