Hi...

I use both LOTW and EQSL to confirm qsos as well as qsl cards. Some dx stations use LOTW and EQSL and many do not. At present, I have about 68 confirmed LOTW contacts and 54 EQSL contacts. Some dx stations may never use either or only one service. Is there a way to get credit for a confirmed contact in one service applied to the other? And how does that work with actual QSL cards received? Can these cards be used toward EQSL DXCC and, if so, how?

Thanks...

Ed

Only eQSLs can be used for the eAwards program. The reason is simple, the QSOs have to be in our database in order for the software to check credits, and the eQSLs have to be from AG members.

The same with LOTW, they can only check credits that are in their database.

However, LOTW does allow you to send in your paper QSLs for verification and submittal toward their awards. There is a fee for that service depending on the amount of cards you send. Not sure if eQSL offers the same service.

Like I said the only thing that count for eAwards is eQSLs. Credit checking is done by software, the eQSL has to be in the database for that to work. Paper QSLs have never been and never will be valid for eAwards.

Similar question but different wording. SOMEWHERE in my reading, I saw we could load the LoTW ADIF into eQSL FOR CREDIT Was this a pipe dream, a suggestion or the truth?

It seems to me, IF that ADIF is identified as coming from LoTW that it would be verified and therefore within the parameters of eQSL.

The attitude of ARRL - esp. LoTW is such that I am considering not renewing my membership, there.

Thanks. Doug K7EVI

Similar answer but different wording :)

All of the award checking is done by software, and the QTH information, state, county, country, grid, etc., comes from the user profile NOT the ADIF file. So credits have to come from users that have (AG) accounts to get that info.
