What is the trick to working ISS? I've tried to work it on two passes the last week or so and haven't heard a peep. I realize they can't make personal contacts all day long, but don't they leave the repeater and/or packet setup running when they aren't using it?

HUmmmm.. not forshure if packet station is up a moment. I havent been on this week.
ISSfanclub.com as alot of good info.
Things to check
Packet Freq: 145:800 RX 144.490 TX nice program to have UISS Packet software "freebe" others will work but this makes it simple.
you will also need AGWP program if running sound card.
also satilite tracking program such as Satscape "freebe" make shure keps are updated so pass over times a correct.
I use a verticale antenna on passes over 20 deg i usally have good luck with around 25 watts.
hope this helps issfanclub shows the packet down at this time.
