I thought the new call sign would inherit the eqsl and awards from my previous call sign - that appears to not be the case and I am back to the start.

Hi Dale
Go to your profile and visit the link 'my other accounts' at the bottom of that page you will be able to attach your new callsign. Once you have attached it, go to the profile on the new account and make it the primary account.
