This may be off topic, but I'm looking for help so where better to start than right here.

I use Internet Explorer to visit eQSL and print out needed cards. I use a HP laser printer and to get the image to hit the card, I have to go into page setup and set manual feed, landscape and left margin to 5.25 inches.

The problem is that after I print a card, and open up a new one I have to reset these settings again. But this is where the real problem is for me. What I see on the page setup screen is that my margin is retained, but the landscape goes back to portrait. So when I click on the portrait button, the 5.25 inches now moves to the "top" margin position. I then have to change the top back to 0.25 and change the left to 5.25

Why do I lose the page setup settings, and why does the margin swap from left to top.

Help,
Rick - WB5FDP

I do not have any direct answer for your problem. However, I would start wiith being certain that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP laser printer.

What is the model of your HP printer ?

You might do better asking your question at a USENET newsgroup.

Goto: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html for help with HP drivers.

Vince,

I use a HP4 printer with the standard MS XP supplied driver.

I have tested this with other printers that use other drivers and see the same results.

Could you possibly test it on your system and see if you see the same results. I can supply step by step instructions if needed.

Rick:

I think that this newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax would provide an iformed answer to your problem.

My printers are HP4L and HP7350, and they run under XPpro+SP2.

The prviously mentioned website for HP drivers help has been favorable to me in the past.

If you want, go ahead and list the required steps here or at the USENET newsgroup referenced above.

Good luck.
