Because of the large volume in the SKED lists, please LIST what BANDS and MODES you want to work! It helps us choose what skeds to set up, and eliminate those with bands or modes we don't have at our stations. Don't just leave it blank! If ANY, PUT ANY! Otherwise I just eliminate all that are blank or unworkable for my station. Specivity helps.

As newcomer had lot of requests for SKEDS also. Answered those I could help (3) but I have had no replies. How do you know that Email was received by person requesting SKED are they supposed to send me Email to suggest time and frequencies? 73 Pat

Also a Newbie to EQsl and have responded to newly listed SKED with no response. My question becomes, somewhat rhetorical, why list if you don't respond!?!?!

I'm not perfect in getting logs uploaded etc, but I ALWAYS respond immediately to all QSL's on EQSL or Direct etc... so why not the same courtesy for a SKED, or don't ask for one?

Just my opinion.

Frankly. I wish his feature had more options. While I do not mind sending a pre-written text to those who request a sked with Alaska (explaining why skeds under current propagation conditions are impossible), it would be nice if there was a way to send them that message immediately when they click on my call. Also, my "travel" accounts such as AL7GA/W0 in North Dakota present the same issue since I am only there a week or so every year. I eve still receive requests for skeds via my old North Dakota call WD0CQA, though I left there in 1984 and my account setup has that as a close date. But I will continue the courtesy of pasting my text into the reply box for each request so they understand the situation.

Because Gary, some of us are on dial up and cannot sit and watch the inbox
for a reply all day. I have chosen to monitor 3.817.00 as often as i can.
I would love to hear you and others on the frequency and make a contact,
I need a number of U.S. states so if you and others are free, stop by and warm the airwaves up!

And I would also request that sked requests can be totally disabled. I have just had a long list of them, all on bands and modes I am not operational on, and for instance to Italy on 6m which even if I were active would be impossible at the moment. If somebody really wanted to work me they could email via my eQSL contact address, I very rarely in fact notice the flashing 'Sked Request' on the entry page when I visit so to that extent it is a waste of time and space.

I just recently opened the Sked Requests page for the first time (I didn't realize it was being populated), and I replied to everybody that requested a sked during the past year. I have also been replying to all new requests.

However, of the hundred or so requests I replied to, I have never received even one followup for a QSO. Does this feature really work? Are the requestors not getting my replies? Are they accidentally requesting skeds in the first place? I'm puzzled.

Dave,
In my opinion, I think the Schedule page is a waste of time and effort. I think there should be an Sked-opt-out choice in one's profile. In answer to your question, I say: No, No, Yes and me too.

Guys i have sent out lots of skeds, not having a great setup, small vertical and 100 watts i thought this was a great way to miss the pileups and identify eqsl users, unfortunatly i have never received 1 e-mail back seems to be a complete waste of a system that could be very advantagious to users.

OK maybe I'm still missing something, a traditional SKED is a mutually agreed DATE, TIME & FREQ for a contact, no?

For example, when I make a SKED with a friend in ZL land we agree to a date, time & freq and if the "Propagation Gods" are with us, we talk.

Want a SKED, then answer the emailed response to a request for one. My SKED "light" is blinking frequently & I've responded a number of times, but to no avail!!!!

Here's an excerpt of the email that EQSL sends out when one clicks to respond :
"I am replying to your request to set up a Sked because you need USA on........., for an award or contest. Please respond to this e-mail with a date, time, and frequency that would work for you."

So fellow Hams, IMHO, don't ask, if you're not going to follow generally accepted practices by having the courtesy to answer responses to your requests for a SKED!!!!!

73 to all.
Happy SKED hunting...
