Satellites » Logging Contacts on the Satellites Jan 26, 2006 03:21 PM (Total replies: 8)

I have gotten Qsl cards for satellites that were not maked as such in the Special Propagation Mode. We need to start doing this so that it will be easy to seperate out the Satellite contact grids form the VHF and UHF terestral grids. Also I note in the comment section the bird the contact was made on.

Lets just keep the password system just like it is, The Lotow is over kill. It is not the responsibility of the web master to protect you from yourself. If you use the same password for EQSL and your bank that is your problem.

what are the chances of adding a script to the data base that auto adds the sat to a contact that is freq split 145/435 , 435/145 or 2.4/145 I understand that is a one time problem. I am not sure that the few sat guys are just going to have to go throught our logs and make adjustments.
But this is a problem that is going to make the awarding of vhf and uhf grid awards very time intensive.

What you going to do about all the Satellite contacts made before you had a check box for them. I have several hundred contacts in the 2 meter band listed just as FM

Thanks for the offer Tim. Used my LOTOW to AG not a problen just did not understand that it was nessary .
Just a thougt you guys might think about adding a note to the page where you attach acounts with that information.

Interesting note my match rate is much lower on lotow that on eQSL (20 for over 1000contacts) I think that once the awards program gets going eQSL will become very attractive to the VHF and Sat guys.

You are right about the low number of from eQSL AG members. but I also think that the number will go up when the awards are in place I have well over 2000 contacts uploaded at this time. most for 6 meters and the birds. I have over 200 grids on 6 and the birds confirmmed with paper QSL cards. lest the 50 in CA or MN. on eQSL.

Note I thought all 3 active accounts under W6GMT (KG6GMT/0 and W6GMT/0) were all authenticity guarnteed ????. the old KG6GMT account is not attached because it has problems as there are contacts from both QTHs under it. not sure how to handle that. But at the time it was AG

Because the existing eQSL awards are copies of awards by the ARRL or CQ Mag. 100 grids on 6 is not that hard (I have a VUCC for 150 grids) I also have one (150 grids) for satellites again not that hard. Now 2 meters is MUCH harder to get at 100 grids so that might be set at 50 grids.

A starter award 25 grids any band any mode might be in order. Make them too easy and there is no sense of acheavement

OK after a bad start posting. Here are my thoughts on grid Awards. seperate awards for Satellites, 6 meter, and 2 meter, one award for UHF all freq. 100 grids for the Satellites, 6 meter and 2 meter award, 50 for the 432 up lets stay in sink with the VUCC awards.
