Contesting » DO YOU UPLOAD YOUR CONTEST LOGS? Oct 30, 2007 10:18 PM (Total replies: 52)

If only all hams could be educated at how easy it is to use eQSL or LOTW (once an account is set up), there would be more hams using them. Even if not interested in receiving any return QSLs, it is so easy to upload your log for all QSOs made, provided you are already using a software logging program.

Bill,

I don't understand your comment. The beauty of systems like eQSL and LOTW is they require very little attention once set up. All the op has to do is periodically upload his log to the system. That's it! And that requires almost the same effort whether your log contains 100 contacts or 5000 contacts. The systems do the matching of QSOs to produce QSLs. Surely any op can learn how to upload their logs, say, once a month? No QSL manager is required since there really isn't any work to do unless the op himself is interested in applying for an award on the system in question.

After a big contest, the very next day, I see major stations in the contest have uploaded their logs. Just takes a few minutes.

I was (I guess still am?) VE7DX1EO (Dec/1970) and previously VE7PE1EO (Jan/1970). That was 37+ years ago! Still enjoy SWL and AM BCB dxing when ham bands have no dx.
