I have had an eQSL account (KK4HGY) for over a year and I am quite happy with the way it works with FLDigi. I have got AG status and check frequently to see if I have won any awards.

Recently I created an account for our club (N4SVC {pending AG}) and some of the club members wanted to know if eQSL cards counted in the ARRL contests. I saw a discussion about this in the forum, but the discussion ended in 2010. What is the current status of eQSL and ARRL?

I don't think they do as of yet. They have an issue with accepting anything but their own stuff so far.

Correct, ARRL does not accept eQSLs. CQ magazine does though, if you are interested in their award program.

While the ARRL doesn't accept eQSL for their contests, you can still submit your logs to them for ranking and to eQSL for awards.

I have found over the past six months or so my rate of return has started to increase dramatically on eQSL for my contest contacts. I personally don't care about the ARRL's awards as the achievement is the same no matter who gives the award. eWAS is just as valid as the ARRL version. the eDX100 looks just as good on a wall as whatever award the ARRL wants to peddle. Sure, they have LoTW but they want you to jump through hoops to prove who you are before they feel you are worthy enough to give you the keys to their kingdom. Not worth it in my opinion. I have AG status with eQSL after showing them my license and am happy to hang their awards in the radio room.

Hi Jeff and group,

I feel the same way. I do use LOTW and submit for the ARRL awards, but they're not the only awards on the planet by a long shot. My eQSL returns have gone up quite a bit, too. The eQSL awards look great, and demonstrate the same performance to me. I hang them on the walls of my shack and post them on my website. None of them help with the mortgage, improve my credit rating, or yield discounts at the local stores. I just like chasing paper a bit from time to time. Sure, if someone wanted to cheat the system badly enough, I'm sure they could, but to what end? They're only lying to themselves, as it doesn't really matter to anyone else.

I think it's pretty cool that eQSL has worked with DARC & 73 for co-operation with their awards. Honestly, the eQSLs I get, for the most part, look better than the paper ones I get direct from hams or through the buro. I download them from my account and upload them to one of those electronic picture frames that runs in my shack all the time. Pretty snazzy!

eQSL rocks!

ARRL thinks their digital certificate is better than AG here. Both are just as good as the other.
