Once the current Techs are granted their HF privleges (to be the same as the Tech-Plusses) on 10m, I would humbly suggest that we Tech-Plusses and above get on 10 and welcome them (28.3-28.5 SSB). True, propagation on 10 is pretty dismal now save for a few openings, but what better way to welcome the newbies than being there and being positive, rather than having none of us there when they're trying to do their best with their new privleges? We can instantly help them and make sure that they're doing it correctly, saving us years of griping about it online later ;-)

Great idea Jeff! Someone had mentioned 28.365 as the calling freq. for that week end. I plan to be monitoring and promoting eQSL to the newcomers. Hope to hear and QSO with a bunch of them!

I've heard several plan to camp out on 28.400, as well... as one who'll be gaining privileges, I'll be pokin' around at 12:01am EST, Friday, February 23, 2007 (late Thursday night... legally, though, Friday)... which works out to 0501 UTC, 02-Feb-2007.

No, Lewis, the techs will get 10m ssb rights on 2/23/07 at 12:00am est. 05:00z. So you didn't miss the wagon.
