I am curious, is there a way to increase the return ratio on eQSL?

I have been a supporter of eQSL for a few years now and have uploaded all of my logs to the service. However my confirmation rate is only 25%. I have been resisting joining LoTW due to having to jump through hoops since I didn't live in the States. However as an experiment I went ahead and signed up. I then uploaded the same log file that I use for eQSL to LoTW and to my surprise, I had a 48% confirmation rate.

Looking at the awards on eQSL I have 24 countries confirmed for the eDX100 award. On LoTW I have 41 countries confirmed. For eWAS I have 23 states confirmed and on LoTW I have 41 states confirmed.

I am sure that there are other people with results that would be higher on eQSL than on LoTW. But this got me thinking that there has to be a way to increase the hit ratio on eQSL.

I am curious, have any of you had better luck with your confirmation rate? Or is it pretty much the luck of the draw and what will be is what will be?

Hi,
I have sent till now (28 august @19.44 UTC) 1234 eQSL and got back 730 confirmations, means 59.2% of confirmation rates. This only from my main log - in call sign.
I have 98 countries confirmed for the only eAward available for SWLs and i have sent QSLs to 117 countries, almost only to AG members....19 countries are with non responsive HAMs even after sending them more than 2 or 3 follow up and reminders by email.
At the beginning the rate was much worst than i took AG and upgraded to silver for a "more fascinating" QSL card instead of sending a generic QSL as other thousands.....
This improved the return rate.

I'm at 71% return rate here, just checked. Around 50%-60% return rate seems to be about average, not sure why yours is so low, Jeff.

I just run digital modes here, and I think that helps with many digital mode programs auto-uploading to eQSL as soon as the QSO is logged.

No idea what my return rate is on LoTW, I don't have an account there.

EQSL and LOTW used to be a pain, loggin and keeping track of cards used to be a pain.
But these new logging programs make it a snap. I am jazzed with them and my new awards that I never chased after until we went all electronic.

Wow, you guy's are doing great....
Even at 25%

From the last set (CA QSO party) I have received 3, that's right 3 from the 60 I have sent in so far.

If I recall that would be 5%

The worst return rate I get are eQSLs I send for contest QSOs. Not exactly sure why that is, but I see similar results for contest eQSLs.

here we go..............

118 QSO's this month and 19 QSL's.
I noticed that Hams from other countries seem to take this a bit more seriously
as 8 or so QSO's were out of country and all but 1 QSL'd

Just checked mine (for October) I sent 57 and received 41.

You could be on to something with the country. I'm mostly interested in working DX here, and October all I worked was DX, mostly Europe. Also, all of those QSOs were digital modes, I think that has something to do with it too.

I noticed that the lapse of response to EQSL in the USA is from the State of Vermont. This has been true for me for the past 15 years.

Go to the bottom of the page, at the bottom is a link to save as ADIF file.

The best rate of return for eQSL is from digital modes users, then from people who log via computer. Least likely are the manual loggers, CW and Phone users.

My guess is that it's a matter of convenience... if you already have the logs going into a computer, it's easy to put htem here.
