hello all, I'm working on my eDX100 & with regularity experience frustrating reply-rates of less than .1%. I understand that requests for rare ones can turn out as pain in the neck, but for countries with more than 100..200 "AG"-users I don't see the point. Any idea, what could be done about that? 73! Hi Tom!
The Sked idea doesn't seem to work too often.
Only occassionally do I get a reply from requests I put out.
Todate I have never gotten a reply when I respond to a Sked request.
Perhaps there are many reasons why folks don't reply, but ignoring responses to a Sked request they themselves put out seems really odd.

--- Original message by DL4NSE Tom Klaschka on Nov 22, 2005 07:12 AM Hi Tom, I agree that Sked Request does not work as well as we hoped it would when it was introduced. I pretty much gave up on it myself. You may find it more productive to look at the recommended contacts for countries you need and write to the stations individually. I think what may happen with the Sked Request, since it is sent to all AG users in a country that everyone figures that someone else will answerer it an no one does. Bye the way I took a look at your Inbox/Outbox ratio and I calculate your response rate as 24.8% not .1% 73, Rich - W3ZJ

But the bright side is, not counting the (significant) overlap, my overall return rate could be 88.1%! KE5AQD Roger Banks

OK, I won't split hairs with you over a few percentage points, just over a few orders of magnitude in percentage points 73, Rich - W3ZJ

I just wanted to chime in about the return rates. I found it interesting that mine the OPs were close. I wonder what the overall return rate for eQSLs is? KE5AQD Roger Banks

hello all, thanks for your remarks, especially for the idea of contacting others directly, may be that works more efficiently. To avoid misunderstanding, of course, the percentage of confirmed eQSLs is much higher, the .1% is the number of replied sked requests vs. number of addressed 'AG'-members. WWDX did a great job for me, got some new ones, even if it's still hard work with 10W and attic wires... see you soon, 73! Tom DL4NSE Tom Klaschka

I uploaded all of them yesterday. Looks like roughly half of them are eQSL members. So far I have one confirmed. Looking forward to three or four more!!! KE5AQD Roger Banks

hello Roger, hello all!, didn't participate the whole time, only for several hours, ended up with some 85 qsos, abt 35x W/VE, one JA, 4X, A4, PZ5, PJ2, TF, CN, R1M .. missed a lot of Carribean/ South American stations due to bearing of my attic loop. Even by the end of the contest the more rare ones were still hard to get, couldn't crack the pile-up for HC8, TZ, S9, 8Q, 9N, D4, VP5 .. with my 10W, but got i.e. V2 & P4 prior to the test on 10/ 18 Mc experienced the same, about half of them members, but -unfortunately- very few 'AG's. nevertheless, 4X & SV set my counter up to 45, now, but still a long way to go.. 73! hello all, have to pick up the topic again: thanks for the suggestion!, in fact the idea to contact users chosen from the country list directly works much more efficiently. I'm up to 51 (#52 in the queue) now. Is there a way by taking the relevant info from the user's profile yes, I know... to mark which calls are still valid or have been past activities (guess at least this is to figure out easily) 73!, Tom ps: one sked-request turned out in a qsl for 30/17m-qsos yesterday at a time, when I've still been at the office; consequently the cards are in my reject box now. Additionally I dropped the om a line telling that that wasn't what I ment by the request.. DL4NSE Tom Klaschka
