Russ, K7INA, is our usual net control. However, he is a police officer and sometimes has to work on the weekends. Thus, he can't always be available. He has asked repeatedly for volunteers to step up and take the net when he can't be there. So, far no one has volunteered. So, come on guys, if you think the net is important put a little effort into it and help make it happen every week.

XYL and myself will be on 20M SSB net Saturday 21 Apr at 1800 UTC somewhere around 14.310 and up. We will be on 14.270 or 14.275 at 0300 UTC from August 29 through Sept 3. We are working on our WAS and hope to make a few more contacts (band conditions permitting).
Thanks!

What about an AG/eQSL Weekly Net for all of those like myself that would like to get somr of the awards, i.e. WAS, eDX, etc. as I find it hard to to even get states, let alone any DX as that is just a crap shoot.
Has anyone started a net yet.??

To those of you asking about an eQSL net, here is a brief review of attempts to date.

I operated a weekly net on 20M SSB each Saturday at 1800 UTC during last spring and early summer. It found some success but band conditions were very poor, my occupation in law enforcement prohibited me from being NC every week and requests for relief NC stations went 99% unheeded. Then there was the intentional interference from one of our members, David Tolassi, WA1BHV, who is well known by the FCC for his illegal operations and on-air threats against government officials. He harrassed me for several weeks while I tried to keep the net afloat, but I finally gave up before my buttons got pushed too far.

As of today, Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007, there is no eQSL net in operation that I am aware of. I am located on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Angeles, NW Washington State with a clear shot to all lower 48, Central, South America, Caribbean, AK / HI on the back and a short rotation to EU. The earlier experiments with a net showed everybody could copy me fine but most had great difficulty copying other stations.

When band conditions improve (your guess is as good as mine) and / or the intentional interference is minimized (can't always be totally removed), I will consider re-starting a net.
Until then, I tried my best. If someone else out there wants to give it a try, go for it. I will help as much as I can.

Perhaps a series of regional 40M nets during the low cycle years would find success.
Just a thought. Yes, I have 40M on the Force 12 Yagi!!!!

When someone volunteers to be net control.

Russ K7INA started it but sometimes has to work on the weekends and can't be there every week. He repeatedly asked for volunteers to help out but no one stepped up to the plate so he gave up. If you want a net, do something besides talk about it.

OK, Everybody, here are the details on my latest attempt at setting up eQSL nets.

I plan to re-start the 20M SSB net on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1900 UTC. Initial frequency will be 14.325 +/- QRM and the alternate is 14.250 also +/- QRM. I have had conversations with Mel, K4PPQ, in Florida who is willing to help out and he says there are some others on the east coast to lend a hand as well.

I also have a 40M SSB net in the planning stages. This net will be on Sundays also at 1900 UTC. No starting date has been set. I will have no propagation from WWA at that time, so someone else will have to step up on this one. It may turn into a regional net but time will tell.

Anyone who wishes to help Mel and I get these nets off the ground, please get in touch with me at k7ina@aol.com.

Thanks Russ and Mel!
Hope to be on the 20m net this Saturday. Will try to help out as best I can, so please email me the Preamble (if any) you plan to use. My email is n1ork at arrl dot net. Looking forward to get some needed states.

Well, we had a pretty good net today! Mel did a great job and I was able to help out with a few relays. I think we had 14 or 15 check-ins and we had two confirmed QSO's for people needing certain states. Didn't hear any DX check-ins, but maybe next time. Maybe the 20m net (once it gets going) could be for DX and the 40m one could be for eWAS. Although there are a couple of other DX nets. Looking forward to try the 40m net. Maybe the coverage will be better. Get the word out everyone!

This weeks net (4/12) was ok, however, conditions were poor and we only had 8 checkins. Mel, I won't be around for the next net (in Canada), but hope to make it after that from the camp in NH. I'll be N1ORK/P at that time (April 26th) if I can re-hang the g5rvjr into the trees.

OK everyone, here's your chance!

I need a NC for the 20M SSB net this Saturday, June 07. I have a police assignment and will not be home in time.

Activity has been picking up and members do notice when a net is skipped, regardless of the reason.

I will provide the preamble and all necessary guidence.

Someone please step up and help us out.

Russ,
I talked with Mel (k4ppq) the other day and agreed to help him out this w/e. I'm portable in NH as N1ORK/P, using an FT857D into a G5RVjr up about 25' here in the woods. The camp is in Freedom, NH in Carroll county. I don't know what the conditions will be like, but will try to help with relays and such. If you want to send me the preamble and stuff, get me at n1ork@arrl.net.

I have been reading this thread and I'm not too sure, but, is there an established net going on here? I think this is a great idea to help promote the service as well as grow Contacts. If this has been happening, would it be a good Idea to post a sked on the home page for those like me that don't really get into these forums? either through an announcment banner on the home page or a link showing the sked. say move the cake to the side and put a Net sked Icon there. If I knew about any net I would have been there for sure. Just my 2 Cents

I know a lot of Nets have been popularized through just being out there on the Bands doing what their doing. The best method of advertizing free and fun
