A person who is working on eQSL awards might want to check into an eQSL net. When you work someone in a particular state, grid or DXCC you would be assured of getting an AG eQSL. Isn't that what all nets are about?

Roger, KE5AQD:

Not quite correct. Not all members are AG and I can't see any way to keep non-AG members from checking in to any net.

Aside from that, I hope to be at my HF QTH again this weekend and without any contests going on maybe we can try again to get something started.

Would anyone like to suggest a time and frequency?

OK, Ladies and Gents,
looking at 860 viewers (by far the most in the general topic"Getting more eqsls"), there seems to be some interest.....or?
I have been busy in the past weeks, not been online or hardly on the air.
Condx are not great from here, but still...

On a net, off course, anybody would be welcome, AG or not, eQsl or not; it could raise the awareness factor for eQSL as well as promote general fellowship.

And, no, the website does not do everything for the members: Some hams just like to chase the paper, and the reflux for sked requests is not very good for needed countries, it is better for States in the US, but quite meager there , also. Just my results..

So, a net seems to be a possibility to increase interest......(I just might catch something I have been looking for so long). It might also increase the AG awareness, because one might be asked for that right there in the qso with a wanted entity. And, who would reply"Iam not interested"......

Just think about it!

I am a paper chaser, no doubt about it, and I strongly believe the eQSL community has to wake up, not only to spread the word, but also to spread the wealth: Work more eQsl stations to create more eQsls to create more awards to create more general awareness for this excellent service !!

I am still waiting to do this, just let me know where and when. I would be willing to be a net control. I have a 40-10 yagi, beverages and dipoles for everything else. I can run full legal limit and am in the center of the country (usually can work both coasts). I think that with a balance of net controllers and assistant net controller for relay, we could cover a lot of DX.

Greetings to all: I think the EQSL net is a GREAT idea... My biggest complaint is getting an AG station to actually log into EQSL and send the EQSL. I've worked 56 countries, all AG, but get QSLs from the bureau but nothing from EQSL. For this to really work, everyone needs to do their part. QESL is GREAT for that new ham operator just getting into ham radio. I hope to see a net on 20 mtrs soon with lots of real DX stations. Thanks 73's Chuck K8BBE

I read that some of you are ready for a net. I believe that this would be a great idea.

WW5AA Gunter and K7INA Russ have both said that they would lead the net. Lets pick a time an freq. One or two days a week on 40 and/or 20. I will help, but my station is not a "big gun."

One other thing would be to have eQSL list the net on the opening page of the site. Not everyone is going to check the forums for a time and date.

Who do we need to talk to? How do we get this message out front?

Catch you on the radio,

Dan

You guys settle on the times and frequencies, I'll try to convince Dave to post it on the site in a prominent place - I don't think it will take much convincing.

Tally Ho !! I'm in.........

My availability is as follows:

Wednesday, June 21, after 2200 UTC
Thursday, June 22, from 1800 to 1900 UTC
This upcoming weekend is Field Day and I'm not home since I am the president of our county ARC and in charge of the activity. Please work W7FEL if you hear us - it might be me!

My QTH is in extreme NW Washington due south of Victoria BC, so I have a good shot over the pole to EU and the Pacific. Force 12, 9-elements at 75 feet and all the power I need should help.

OK, Everyone:

Let's pick a day, band and frequency. From my QTH 40 meters would be difficult. Someone in the midwest or east will do much better as NC on 40. If you want a 40M net someone else will have to take NC duties.

I can help with a 20M net on the days and times I mentioned previously. Maybe 14.250 will work?

The 20M on Wednesday at 2200 UTC sounds good to me. At 1800 UTC, I am at work or traveling in the car (no moble unit right now).

This Wednesday is out for me, I will be on a plane. But I would check in every Wednesday I am available.

The one thing to remember is that we have to be persistent. It has to be the same time every week, on the same freq. Being on the air is great promotion for a net and then for e-QSL. I have found some great nets just scanning the frequencies.

ARRL and other sites also have a list of nets. Try to get on those lists also.

Lets get this going!

Thanks,

Dan

Has this idea gone anywhere? I'd be a starter for sure. There is an existing DX net - the ANZA net, daily @ 0515Z on 14.183MHz +/- QRM. There are a bunch of regurar participants from the US, VE, VK, ZL, Pacific and sometimes Africa. It's a lot of fun and newcomers are always welcome.

Tony

Hi Tony:

I am a frequent check-in to the ANZA net and probably will be there tonight (Friday UTC). We have had a contact on 28-Jul-06 on the net.

Several of us have tried to get something started but not much luck as yet.

Hey Russ.

I heard you on the ANZA net today (Friday UTC) but I didn't bother checking in myself - couldn't copy net control. I could hear him - just - but he was waaay down in the swamp at my QTH. I had better copy on VK2FTZ, Hans, running his 10 Watts in Sydney. Shows how fickle conditions can be. I'm not sure who is NC tomorrow, but I'll be there.
